Dr. Sepideh Khosravi, Ph.D. in Physics

Manager R&D, and Optical Engineering

Dr. Khosravi specializes in designing and developing optical systems in the optical science field. She received her PhD in Physics from University of British Columbia (UBC) with a specialization in applied optics in 2015. During her studies, she designed and developed an innovative day lighting optical system that channels sunlight into the dark core of multi-storey buildings. The successful project earned her a fellowship from the Sustainable Building Science Program at UBC.

After her PhD, Dr. Khosravi pursued new entrepreneurial challenges in optics by becoming an Optical Engineer for MetaOptima Technologies. She designed an innovative dermatoscope that attaches to smartphones and enables personal skin-imaging for early-stage skin cancer detection.
