Metamaterial Technologies Inc. (MTI) welcomes Larisa Koskowich as a Junior Mechanical Engineer. Ms. Koskowich attended the University of Alberta where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She has experience in product development, material design, and material testing. Ms. Koskowich also held a research position at the University of Alberta where she oversaw an in-depth investigation of electrospinning—a method of producing mats of polymer fibres with sub-micron and nanometre diameters. She has worked for companies such as Spring Loaded Technology, Tangent Design Engineering and AMEC Environment and Infrastructure.
“Ms. Koskowich is a talented aspiring engineer and we look forward to working with her,” says George Palikaras, Founder and CEO of MTI. “Larisa’s unique background and experience will be an asset to MTI as we continue to pioneer a new class of smart materials for the consumer market.”
During her final year of studies at the University of Alberta, she earned the two highest achievement awards from the mechanical engineering department for excellence in technical design; the Northern Lights Award for Excellence in Technical Design (2014) and the Wilson Sterling Memorial Book Prize (2014).
