Boris Kobrin, Ph.D. in Solid State Physics

Dr. Boris Kobrin is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Metamaterial Technologies Inc (MTI). Prior to MTI, he was a founder and CEO of Rolith, Inc., where he pioneered a novel low- cost high throughput lithography technology called RML®, that is scalable to large surface areas. He also developed a new award-winning technology called NanoWeb® that is an invisible metal mesh conductor. Dr. Kobrin was one of the founding members of Applied Microstructures, where he developed an advanced technology for deposition of nanocoatings for MEMS. His work history also includes the development of CCD detectors for Electron Corp in Russia, diffractive optics for Holo Or Inc. in Israel, fiber Bragg gratings for Bragg Photonics in Canada, plasma etch equipment technology for Plasma-Therm in Florida and MEMS optical switches for Onix Microsystems in California. Dr. Kobrin has authored more than 50 papers and presentations, and 30 issued patents. Dr. Kobrin received his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia.
