Laser attacks can impair both human vision and equipment sensors. These threats have the potential to compromise missions on land, in the air, and at sea. metaAIR® is a scalable optical filter solution which blocks harmful laser lights to ensure the protection of military personnel.

It can be applied to ballistic eyewear systems or vehicle windows to defend against the possibility of laser attacks in asymmetric warfare. The optical filter can be adhesively applied to windshield and/or windows of fixed-wing or rotary aircraft to provide complete aircrew protection against laser threats.

At sea, metaAIR can be used to protect sailors’ vision behind a ship’s bridge glass. The technology can protect members of a boarding party using laser-protective eyewear. In most cases, its main benefit is its ability to help military personnel maintain situational awareness across all domains by protecting vision, EO/IR  optical sensors, night vision goggles (NVG), periscopes, and other imaging sensors.
