Lamda Guard is an optically transparent thin-film that use metamaterials (nano-composites) to selectively block light from specific colors or wavelengths.

The award-winning metaAIR™ provides vision protection against harmful laser strikes in the aerospace, security, and defense industries. It is a lightweight thin-film that contains millions of nano-scale structures, uniquely designed to only block specific wavelengths of the optical spectrum. It can be applied to almost any glass or clear plastic surface such as eyewear, protective goggles, glasses, visors or cockpit windscreens to block hazardous high intensity laser beams. The thin-film offers superior protection with a high level of clarity – allowing you to see the same colors the way nature intended. The thin-film is adaptable and can be custom-designed to suit an industry manufacturer’s specifications and allowing for scalability.

Practical thin-film applications of this technology include individual eyewear, goggles and visors to protect ground forces as well as helicopter pilots or; directly to the inside of an airplane cockpit to protect commercial and military aircraft pilots.

These products continue to be tested by Lamda Guard’s engineers, testing partners, and early commercial partners.
