About Lamda Lux
Enhancing light to save you money.
Lamda Lux can enhance the output and efficiency of LED lighting. The optically transparent thin film can drastically increases the light output, or lumen, of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The thin-film uses metamaterials, also known as nano-composites, which have the ability to alter the properties of light in unprecedented ways.
Existing LED bulbs are more efficient than conventional lighting over time; however the initial cost to convert from other lighting sources is high. Additionally the use of LEDs is limited in industries where very bright or omnidirectional light is required because each bulb can only emit up to the equivalent of 60 watts so multiple bulbs are required, decreasing the cost effectiveness.
The technology works by adding a layer of the metamaterial thin film to the existing bulb so it can be used immediately by LED manufacturers without the need to redesign a bulb from scratch. The result of this breakthrough innovation is twofold; 1. Manufacturers will be able to reduce the number of LEDs per bulb, which will help bring the lifetime cost of an LED bulb below the level required for mass market adoption or 2. The same number of bulbs can used but by increasing the light emitted it will be possible to use LEDs for industrial applications previously inaccessible because they were not bright enough.
Lamda Lux does not increase heat output and can be applied directly to a bulb by LED manufacturers.
