Dr. Andrew Yick appointed to the position of Chief Technology Officer

Metamaterial Technologies Inc. appoints Dr. Andrew Yick to the position of Chief Technology Officer.

Feb. 1, 2015, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada – Metamaterial Technologies Inc. (MTI) is proud to announce and welcome Dr. Andrew Yick as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Andrew will be responsible for MTI’s technology strategy and for leading engineering commercialization of new and potentially disruptive technologies, supported by MTI’s office of the Chief Science Officer.

Dr. Yick, a Canadian National, has been working in California’s high-tech sector for the last 7 years and brings to MTI years of experience in growing international engineering teams with a particular expertise in optics, photonics and high-speed RF devices. Prior to joining MTI, Andrew served in Senior Manager roles at Inphi and Source Photonics where he led successful new product engineering teams responsible for design verification, reliability qualification, test automation, manufacturing ramp-up and sustaining production. He has also held positions at various high-tech leaders, including: JDS Uniphase, Newbridge Networks (Alcatel) and GSI Lumonics.

Dr. Yick’s research expertise is in UV laser microfabrication and electro-optic polymer photonics. Dr. Yick holds a BSc. in Applied Mathematics and Engineering from Queen’s University, a MSc. in Photonics from the University of Toronto and a PhD. in Electrophysics from the University of Southern California.
