Dr. Alison Mark is a Mechanical Engineer with a PhD in Materials Science. She has 10 years of international experience doing engineering research and development in academia and with industry, having worked in Canada, England and Germany. She has experience in a wide range of technical areas: materials design, process-performance characterization, materials selection, mechanical testing, and materials characterization at all scales. Dr. Mark also has a breadth of communication and management skills developed through designing and managing research projects large and small, organizing international conferences and workshops for everything from technical training to outreach for school children. She enjoys writing and hones her skills through many outlets including website curation, editing a university newsletter, and writing journal and conference papers.
