B.J. Shin

Mr. Bark-Jae “B.J.” Shin is Chairman & EVP of META’s Korea Operation. He has a long and distinguished career in the Korean electronics industry. He was Chairman & Representative Director, SVP of Global Sales & Marketing with ams-OSRAM Korea co., Ltd. He was SVP GSM Region, Chairman & Representative Director of NXP Semiconductors Korea co., Ltd. He was Vice Chairman of the Seoul Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Vice Chairman of ICC World Chamber Federation, and Vice Chairman of the Korea Electronics, IT & Industry Association.

Previously, Mr. Shin was Chairman of the Korea Foreign Company Association. He has also held several positions with national and international sports organizations, including Executive Board Member of the Federation International De Hockey, Vice President of the Korean Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Korea Hockey Association, and Chairman of the Korea Handball Federation. Mr. Shin served as Chef de Mission of the Korean Delegation in both the Athens 2004 and Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.

Mr. Shin began his career at Philips Electronics Korea Ltd., where he served for more than 30 years, and was President & CEO from 1993 to 2006. He was subsequently Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for LG Philips LCD Co., Ltd. He holds a Master of Science degree from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, completed an Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School, and holds an Honorary Doctorate of Science from the Korea National Sports University.
