Derek Glennie

Derek Glennie joined Nanotech in April 2020 after more than 25 years of Engineering and Operations leadership in the biotechnology, Industrial laser, fiber optic telecommunication and aerospace industries.  At Spartan Bioscience, he lead mechanical, electrical, software, and system engineers to meet the product development and product sustaining of the Spartan Cube, the world’s smallest DNA analyzer.  At Newport, he lead all aspects of manufacturing, site operations, operational excellence and ERP implementation.   At JDS Uniphase, Mr. Glennie lead an cross-functional team designing the latest in advanced fiber optic communication modules.  Mr. Glennie has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and a Master of Applied Science from the University of Toronto’s Institute for Aerospace Studies.
