July 3, 2018 Halifax, Nova Scotia – Metamaterial Technologies Inc. (MTI), is pleased to announce the appointment of Douglas Hall as Chair and Bill Lambert and Eric Leslie as board members.

“MTI is positioned to be a global leader in metamaterials and advanced manufacturing and is ready to enter a new phase of growth,” said Mr. Hall. “I look forward to working with the board and the management team to advance the company’s development as it enters a new stage of commercializing state-of-the-art metamaterials.”

Mr. Hall succeeds Maurice Guitton. Mr. Guitton will remain a member of the board for MTI and will be the Chair of Lamda Guard Inc., a subsidiary company of MTI that is focused on delivering metaAIR laser glare protection products.

“I am honoured to serve as Chair of Lamda Guard Inc. as we begin the production of metaAIR products to provide a solution to laser interference in the aviation industry,” said Mr. Guitton.

Board Appointments

Douglas Hall, Chair spent 25 years as a managing director of investment banking with the RBC Financial Group. He currently serves as a Board Member at Purpose Investments, Pattern Energy Group, and Stanfield’s. Mr. Hall is a member of the Advisory Board of Southwest Properties and the past Board Chair of Nova Scotia Business Inc. Within the local community, he is the Chair of the Finance Committee for Pathways to Education Spryfield and a Board Member of AIMS. Mr. Hall received a Bachelor of Arts and Science from Queen’s University, an MBA in Finance from the Ivey School of Business at Western University and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Bill Lambert is a former Partner at Birch Hill Equity Partners (TD Capital), a private equity partnership that has $1.7 billion in capital under management. Bill has sat on the boards of several companies including Marsulex Inc., a Toronto-based environmental services company, BIOX, a biofuels company and Ag Growth International, a leading manufacturer of grain handling, conditioning and storage equipment. He has 22 years of experience in the private equity and merchant banking industries, and ten years’ experience in consulting.

Eric Leslie has experience in the areas of management consulting, venture capital advisory services, corporate governance, and operations. He is the CEO of Merchant Equities Capital Corporation with clients that represent a broad spectrum of industries. Over the past 25 years, he has served as an officer and / or a director of numerous public and private companies.
